MacroNode, Visual Node Based Macro & Automation Editor

MacroNode is a visual, node based macro and automation editor for Windows. Instead of writing scripts, you drag nodes onto a canvas and wire them together to describe exactly what your macro should do: move the mouse, click, type, wait, check the screen for a pixel, color, image, or text, branch, loop, read and write files, control windows, and more. Record real mouse and keyboard input straight into nodes, then fine tune timing, randomization, and failure handling, all visually.

Early Prototype: Bugs and Glitches Expected

MacroNode is still in early, active prototyping. This is not a finished, polished product. It's a work in progress shared for people who want to test it, follow its development, and give feedback.

  • Expect bugs, glitches, unexpected behavior, and occasional crashes.

  • Some nodes and features may be incomplete, unstable, or change significantly between updates.

  • The UI and node behavior may be reworked without notice as development continues.

  • Please don't rely on it for anything critical, and keep backups of any important recordings or setups.

  • If you run into issues, bug reports and feedback are genuinely appreciated. They directly shape what gets fixed and prioritized next.

Features

  • Node based canvas:  Build automation logic visually by connecting nodes with wires instead of writing code. Add comment boxes to document your graphs, and group a section of nodes into a single reusable custom node.

  • Input recording: Capture real mouse movement, mouse clicks, keyboard presses, and combined mouse and keyboard "input macros," then replay them at an adjustable speed.

  • Global hotkeys: Assign modifier + key combinations to start and stop recording and playback without touching the app window.

  • Image recognition: "Click Image," "If Image Found," "Wait For Image," and "Repeat Find & Click" nodes locate a captured image on screen, with adjustable match confidence, search regions, grayscale matching, click offsets, click ordering, and support for multiple matches.

  • Pixel and color detection: "Get Pixel," "If Pixel," "Wait Pixel," and "Find Color" nodes read and react to on screen colors, plus a "Reactive Pixel Trigger" node built for fast reaction time or skill check style detection.

  • On screen text (OCR): "Read Text" reads a screen region into a variable, and "If Text Found" branches on whether target text appears on screen.

  • Logic and flow control: Branch with "If Value," "If Bool," or "Compare," loop with "Repeat" and "While," and manage state using typed Variables (String, Number, Coordinate, Color, Bool), "Set Variable," "Increment," "Math," and "Random Number."

  • Window control: Focus, close, and wait for windows, and read a window's title into a variable.

  • Clipboard and files: Get and set the clipboard, and read, write, append to, open, or check for the existence of files on disk.

  • Timing tools: Fixed delays, randomized delay ranges, and per node playback speed multipliers to make sequences feel more natural.

  • Extra actions: Scroll the mouse wheel, hold or release individual keys, send key combos (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+A), type templated text with {variable} substitution, play sound alerts, show message boxes, and launch external applications or run programs.

  • Failure handling: Nodes that can fail expose an "error" output port, so you can wire up exactly what happens when a step can't complete during playback: retry, branch, or halt.

  • Minimizing to tray: Bind saved workflow files to global hotkeys and run them in the background without opening the editor.

  • Multi monitor aware: with system tray support for running quietly in the background.

Demo limits

  • Build, run, save, and load your macros and node graphs with no restrictions on core functionality, including node grouping. Capped at one global key binding, and scheduling (time triggers) and saving custom nodes are reserved for the full version.

Known Limitations

  • Actively in development. Features and node behavior may change between versions.

  • Not yet fully stable; crashes and edge case bugs are possible.

  • Not a true general purpose programming language, though it continues to grow more capable as development continues.

  • Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are welcome and help guide development.
