Cryptr

Cryptr is a co-op dungeon crawler and hack and slash adventure with RPG elements. Pick a hero, step through a portal, fight down through a dungeon, topple the boss, and come back richer. Cryptr is a solo-developed indie game that brings together the works of many artists into one adventure, built to be fun first.

Crawl alone or fight with friends

Play solo or team up with up to four players in online co-op. Empty party slots can fill with computer ally heroes who fight alongside you, level with you, and have your back. Revive downed friends, share the loot, and banter between the fights.

Choose your hero

Cryptr features multiple playable classes, each with its own kit, ultimate ability, and talent tree:

• Knight (sword and shield) ascends to the Paladin

• Ranger (bow) ascends to the Warden

• Wizard (spellcasting) ascends to the Necromancer

• Berserker (dual melee weapons) ascends to the Ravager

• Dwarf Brawler (bare-knuckle fists and kicks)

• Druid (nature magic and party healing, shapeshifts into a towering Oak Tree Ent)

Master a base class to unlock a mightier Ascended class. Shape your hero with deep talent trees: spend points across themed paths, fork into build-defining keystones and capstones, and respec any time for a small gold fee.

Crawl the crypts

Fight through hand-built dungeons across four named regions: the Ruins of Lordenfel, the Frostspire Citadel, the Drowned Coast, and the Blighted Sands. Objectives vary from spawner hunts and survival gauntlets to relic escorts and village defense. Bring down the boss waiting in the final dungeon.

Pick your challenge

Choose Relaxed, Normal, Hard, or Nightmare on the main menu. Higher difficulties pack denser hordes, more Elites, armored shield brutes, and run modifiers that change how a run plays. The best loot and biggest payouts come from the toughest crypts.

Loot, level, and earn your power

Weapons and cosmetics are randomly awarded at the end of each dungeon. These are color-coded by rarity, and can be customized at the merchant in the Tower. Earn Steam achievements as you go and unlock every Ascended form.

Play your way

Cryptr plays the way you want it to. Enjoy full controller support throughout, with remappable keyboard and gamepad controls, and zoom all the way out for a twin-stick overhead view. Everyone sharing the PC gets their own save profile. And with the built-in Level Editor, you can build your own dungeons from the game's own art (eventually you will be able to play custom dungeons as well).
