Vecchio Furioso
About game
Vecchio Furioso (เดือดสะท้านทุ่ง) is a solo-developed, single-player first-person shooter set in 1962 rural Thailand. This project is a personal exploration of the 'Eurojank' subgenre, for the nostalgic friction of early 2000s Windows ME-era PC shooters, focusing on raw action, mechanical experimentation, and grit rather than high-budget polish. Experience unforgiving old-school action with a fast-paced 'pick-up-and-discard' weapon loop. With no traditional inventory to back you up, survival requires split-second adaptation and spatial mastery in an uncompromising shooter sandbox.
The Premise
You play as an old man who living in a time of political and social transition. Following a massive criminal crackdown in Bangkok, the underworld has moved into the provinces. You have fallen into significant debt with the local mafia, and your land deed is being held as collateral.
To reclaim your property, you must navigate the sun-scorched landscape to secure enough funds for periodic debt payments. Failure to meet these payments results in the loss of your land.
Gameplay & Mechanics
The game focuses on a "pick-up-and-discard" combat loop. There is no traditional inventory management or crafting; you utilize the weapons you find on the ground until they are empty, then move on to the next.
Semi-Open World: Explore a recreation of 1962 rural Thailand, featuring red dust roads, wooden shacks, and dense crop fields.
Dynamic Systems: The world features a full day-night cycle and randomized weather patterns that affect visibility and atmosphere.
Resource Management: Survival is tied to your financial state. You must balance the cost of staying alive with the necessity of paying off your debt.
Atmosphere: The visual style is low-poly stylized, designed with a toon-shader.
