Squeak
About game
Asymmetric horror with a session-based structure. You play as a bodiless protector against an adaptive AI. Your task is to guide a human (your Ward) through dangerous locations by manipulating the environment: drop objects, create noises, slam doors. The enemy learns from your actions, while your Ward loses their sanity from any paranormal activity — yours or the enemy's. Can you lead a person through a nightmare without driving them mad and without feeding the monster?
Key features
Environment manipulation — you are a bodiless spirit who can only interact with objects. Your language is throwing, creaking, and rustling. Guide your Ward to the exit and don't let evil get to them first.
Stress — any person is afraid of the unknown and the dangerous. In small doses, stress helps, but in large amounts it drives you mad. Use your abilities wisely.
Develop skills — all creatures, even supernatural ones, are capable of learning. Develop your skills and gain access to new features.
Optional challenges — test yourself in non‑mandatory but generous trials. For example, can you lead your Ward without ever revealing their presence to evil? Outstanding achievements bring unique rewards.
Customization — change your Ward's appearance to your taste, unlocking new elements as you progress.
Designed chaos — each location is built anew, but not blindly. Rooms and their contents are chosen randomly from a set of hand‑crafted variants. This gives you a unique map without the absurd mistakes of automatic generation.
