NEONFALL is a top-down twin-stick roguelite shooter. The neon megatower is flooding from the bottom up, and you have to fight your way down faster than the water can rise. Every floor is a fresh procedural room of enemies, hazards, and chip drops; every death is permanent and sends you back to the top with a fresh build.
CORE GAMEPLAY
▸ Twin-stick combat — WASD to move, mouse to aim, every bullet is dodgeable.
▸ Grapple-hook traversal — fire a line at any wall or enemy and yank yourself across the room.
▸ Dash with i-frames — short cooldown, lets you punch through bullets at the right moment.
▸ Bullet-time — fill a meter by chaining kills, then trigger slow-motion to thread the needle through impossible crossfire.
▸ Combo system — kills within a 2.5-second window stack a multiplier; broken combos cost score and chips.
FIVE WEAPONS, FIVE PLAYSTYLES
▸ Pistol — fast, accurate, infinite-feel starter.
▸ SMG — high fire-rate sprayer, wide spread.
▸ Shotgun — 8-pellet close-range knockback.
▸ Plasma rifle — heavy single-shot, clean and lethal.
▸ Railgun — slow charge, pierces six enemies in a line.
SEVEN BIOMES, FOUR BOSSES, ONE RUN
The game ships with seven hand-tuned modes, each its own biome with unique enemies, hazards, and music track:
▸ TOWER — 30 floors, the main campaign.
▸ MALL — 15 floors of pink-light retail horror with mannequin enemies.
▸ CRYO — 12 floors of freezing labs and drone swarms.
▸ LAVA — 18 floors of flame imps and collapsing platforms.
▸ COOP — 10 co-op-tuned floors built for two.
▸ NIGHT — 13 floors of stealth-flavoured stalker encounters.
▸ HELL — 10 endurance floors against scaling shadows.
Each biome ends with a multi-phase boss — ZARA-9000, the Cryo Sovereign, the Inferno, or the Void — each with their own attack patterns and arenas.
BUILD YOUR RUN
Between floors you choose:
▸ Perks — pick 1 of 3 (Steel Lungs +30 HP, Longreach grapple, Overcharge damage, Time Sink bullet-time, Wet Repair regen, Quicksilver speed).
▸ Shop — spend chips on permanent upgrades and consumable med-patches.
▸ Weapon swaps — drop your starter for whatever the floor offers.
Every run is a different build. You will lose. You will get further next time.
STEAM P2P CO-OP
Built on Steamworks networking — no servers, no accounts, no friend codes. Invite a Steam friend, host a lobby, and one of you joins the run in progress. Both players share the same flood, the same chips, the same boss. Drop-in / drop-out supported.
ORIGINAL SYNTHWAVE SOUNDTRACK
Eight original tracks — one per biome plus a full-length album cut. The score reacts to where you are in the run: calm during traversal, distorted under low HP, full-volume during boss fights.
