Autobus - The Card Game

Autobus is a competitive card game built around one simple goal: be the first player to empty your main pile. Getting there is anything but simple.

Every turn you're racing to play as many cards as possible onto the shared build piles in the center of the table — but the moment you place a card from your hand onto one of your own piles, your turn is over and the next player takes their shot. Timing your plays, reading the table, and knowing when to hold back separates good players from great ones.

How to Play

Each player manages three areas:

• Main Pile — your target. The top card is always visible and playable. Empty it and you win.

• Laying Piles — four personal slots. Cards of the same value stack here; build them up to unlock plays.

• Hand — five cards you draw and play from each turn.

In the center of the table are four shared build piles. On your turn, play cards from your hand, laying piles, or main pile onto them in ascending order — Ace through King, any suit. You can chain as many legal plays as you can find. When you're done (or stuck), your last move is placing a card from your hand onto one of your laying piles or back onto your main pile — that ends your turn.

Jokers are wildcards. They can be played onto any build pile at any time, giving you a lifeline when nothing else fits.

Multiplayer

Host a lobby and up to three others can join via Steam. The host processes all moves and keeps everyone in sync — if a player drops out, their slot is handed to a bot so the game never stalls. You can also enable autopilot on your own slot and let the AI cover for you while you watch.

Play Your Way

New to the game? Jump in solo and learn the rhythm against the AI. Comfortable? Crank up the competition with three human opponents and see who cracks under pressure first. Autobus rewards players who can think a few moves ahead without losing track of what everyone else is doing.
