About game

Local Spirit is a ready-to-use local AI companion built for private conversation, long-term memory, and user-controlled data.

Most local AI setups are powerful, but they often require technical configuration, separate tools, manual setup, and a lot of patience. Local Spirit brings the experience together into a single, coherent desktop software: a local assistant, a visible memory system, practical management tools, and simple workflows designed for everyday use.

The goal is simple: give you the power of a personal AI assistant without forcing you to assemble and configure every part yourself.

Your own AI assistant, running locally

Local Spirit gives you a personal AI companion that runs on your own computer. You can chat with it, ask for help, organize ideas, structure information, remember important context, and work with your own local knowledge base.

For its core assistant features, Local Spirit does not require a permanent internet connection, an external AI account, or a cloud AI subscription after installation.

Steam features such as downloading the application, updates, account services, or optional online features may still require an internet connection, but Local Spirit’s core assistant and local memory system are designed to work without depending on an always-on internet connection or a cloud AI service.

Private by design

Your prompts, conversations, documents, memory, and generated context are intended to stay on your own computer instead of being sent to a remote AI provider.

This local-first approach gives you stronger control over your personal data. You decide what is kept, what is edited, what is exported, what is backed up, what is purged, and what is deleted.

Local Spirit is designed for people who want the benefits of an AI assistant without handing their entire personal context to a cloud service.

Memory you can actually control

Local Spirit is built around the Memory Vault, a visible and editable local memory system.

Many AI assistants hide their memory in opaque systems the user cannot inspect. Local Spirit takes a different approach: persistent memory is organized in a structured local space that you can review, correct, organize, export, import, back up, purge, or delete.

Your assistant’s memory is not meant to be a black box. It is meant to be something you can understand and manage.

A personal knowledge hub

Local Spirit gives your assistant a structured place to remember what matters. Instead of scattering your context across random folders, notes, files, and chat histories, you can organize many kinds of personal information in one local system:

  • Projects and ongoing tasks

  • Notes, ideas, and useful knowledge

  • Contacts and identity/context files

  • Documents and reference material

  • Appointments, events, places, machines, vehicles, and personal records

  • Media, books, games, and other structured collections

  • Local uploads and files used during conversations

Local Spirit is designed to help you reconnect ideas, preserve useful context, and build a personal knowledge base that remains under your control.

Built-in tools for real use

Local Spirit is more than a chatbot. It includes tools designed to make local AI easier to install, easier to understand, and easier to maintain over time:

  • A simple launcher for the assistant and memory tools

  • A customizable visual interface

  • A Memory Vault editor

  • Import and export workflows

  • Local backup and restore tools

  • Memory cleanup and purge features

  • Document and file organization

  • Project scanning and structured project memory

  • Contact import and conversion tools

  • A multilingual integrated help/readme system

Everything is designed around the same idea: make a local AI assistant feel less like a technical experiment and more like a real piece of software that is ready to use.

A customizable desktop experience

Local Spirit is designed to feel personal, not generic. Its interface can be visually customized so users can adapt the look of the software to their own style and setup.

The goal is to make the assistant feel like a real companion on your desktop: practical, readable, pleasant to use, and easy to recognize at a glance.

Steam SaveGuard

Local Spirit also includes Steam SaveGuard, a game-save management module designed for Steam users.

Steam SaveGuard helps identify local games and save locations, create structured game memory entries, back up save files, and restore them when needed.

It is designed to help you keep track of your games, your progress, and your local saves without manually hunting through folders every time.

A more responsible way to use AI hardware

Running AI locally is not magic: it still uses electricity and requires suitable hardware. But Local Spirit is designed for people who already own a capable gaming or workstation PC and want to use that existing hardware for their personal assistant instead of relying on remote servers for every conversation.

By running the assistant locally, Local Spirit helps reduce dependency on large, energy-intensive AI data centers for everyday personal conversations. For users with a suitable GPU, it can turn a gaming PC into a private local AI companion, making better use of hardware they already have.

For some users, Local Spirit can also be a way to give a second life to an older gaming PC or a previous high-end GPU that still has enough VRAM for local AI inference.

Hardware requirements

Local Spirit requires a compatible computer for local AI inference. A dedicated GPU with enough VRAM is strongly recommended for a comfortable experience.

Many PC gamers already own the kind of graphics hardware needed to run local AI models. In local AI workloads, available VRAM is often more important than the raw generation or model year of the GPU, which means an older card with more VRAM can sometimes be more useful than a newer card with less VRAM.

Performance may vary depending on the model used, the amount of available VRAM, the PC hardware, and the system configuration.

Not just another AI chat window

Local Spirit is a small local ecosystem for your personal assistant: chat, memory, documents, projects, contacts, game saves, backup, import/export, purge, customization, and practical organization tools in one place.

It is built for people who want a personal AI assistant that is private, practical, ready to use, visually customizable, and centered around their own data.
