But tonight, something terrifying may happen.

At times, stop, catch your breath, overcome the fear,

and make it home safely.

Along the way, you may hear sounds coming from somewhere,

or see things that should not be seen.

If you feel fear, stop and wait until they disappear.

Wait for your heartbeat to calm down, then start walking toward home again.

Gameplay

Kaeri no Yomichi is a short horror game where you walk along a dark road at night, endure fear, and try to make it home safely.

The only control is walking with the W key.
Along the way, you will pass through residential streets, forests, and quiet country roads while encountering various frightening phenomena, such as sounds, shadows, visual distortions, and unsettling presences.

When you feel fear, it is important not to force yourself to keep moving.
Instead, stop for a moment, calm your breathing, and wait.
If you see something that should not be there, the situation may settle down if you wait for a while.

The goal of the game is to avoid being overwhelmed by fear and safely reach your home.
How quickly you can make it home is also part of the challenge.
