Об игре

Laika was a stray from the streets of Moscow. She became the first living being in space.

Matapacos lived outside a university in Chile. He became an icon of resistance, known across the world.

Boji rode the metro and ferries of Istanbul every day for months. An entire city fell in love with him.

They started with nothing. They weren't supposed to mean anything. They became legends.

Callejero is a roguelite shooter built around those dogs. You play as them. Nine characters. Nine real stories. The city still doesn't want you here.

Fight back.

THE LOOP

Roguelite action built on the DNA of Brotato and Balatro — tight timed combat, a deep card economy, and builds that start as nothing and snowball into something the game wasn't designed to survive.

  • 60-second stages. Hit your kill quota or the run ends. Simple. Brutal.

  • Pick 2 attacks from a random draw of 4, every stage — melee, ranged, or whatever the RNG gives you.

  • Shop after every stage. Buy cards. Build your engine. Make decisions you'll regret or treasure.

  • 8 levels to win. Then the ceiling disappears.

DEEP BUILD CRAFTING

Five card families. 150+ cards. The card system rewards creative thinking and punishes autopilot.

  • Tricks — permanently upgrade one specific attack. Stack copies to build identity. Four Protector cards stacked on Bite means four bleed stacks — that's 8× damage multiplier on every bleed tick. It doesn't stop there.

  • Name Tags — passive modifiers held throughout your run. Four slots (five with Rufo). Each card changes how the game plays. Running out of slots is a real problem you will eventually have to solve.

  • Treats — single-use consumables. Heal, double your coins, or lock in a permanent stat boost for the rest of the run.

  • Pedigree — rare, volatile cards that permanently reshape your run. The Husky: keep one Name Tag, destroy everything else. The Chihuahua: apply every Tricks upgrade you own to every attack simultaneously. One of these cards ends runs. The other can end the game.

Good Boy — shop upgrades that rewrite the rules. Cheaper cards. Better drops. Bigger rewards. Permanent for the entire run.

THE BUTTON

There's a button in every shop. $2 per press. Each press raises the danger level — permanently. Enemies get faster. Hit harder. Spawn more often.

You will have to press it. At higher levels, the kill quota is physically unreachable without it. The base spawn rate doesn't produce enough enemies. The math doesn't work. You must press the button.

The only question is: how many times can your build handle?

NO CEILING

Win level 8 and the run doesn't end. It gets harder.

From level 9 onwards, enemy HP and spawn density escalate at a steeper rate. The game isn't designed to be survived on raw stats alone anymore. You need a build. A specific, intentional, interacting build — the kind where everything you bought was pointing toward the same strategy.

A complete bleed build at level 9+: Bite with four Protectors (8× bleed multiplier), Plague Dog Name Tag (every attack bleeds), Deep Wound (double bleed duration), Chihuahua applying the bleed stack to all eight attacks at once. The Rat King's 700 HP dissolves in seconds.

Without something like that, level 9 ends runs. With it, you start asking how far you can go.

There is no designed ceiling. The only end is you.

ZOOMIES

Kill enemies to fill the bar. When it's full, press Space.

Every enemy on screen takes massive damage instantly. Then you dash ten times across the arena — gold and cyan blur, collision disabled, hitbox live on each dash. Pure chaos. The kind of moment that makes a clip.

The bar resets after every stage.

Unless you're playing Hachikō.

THE DOGS

Nine characters. Each one is a real dog — with an in-game biography based on their actual story, a unique passive ability, and an unlock condition that fits who they were.

  • Laika — A street dog from Moscow who became the first living being in space. No special mechanic. Just a very good girl.

  • Matapacos — Lived outside Universidad de Santiago, became a global symbol of resistance. Picks 3 attacks per stage instead of 2. Uses all of them.

  • Hachikō — Waited at Shibuya station every day for nine years after his owner died. Zoomies bar carries over between stages. It never resets.

  • Aloka — A stray from Sri Lanka who survived against every odd. HP never refills between stages — but gains +15 max HP for every stage survived.

  • Boji — Rode Istanbul's metro alone, every day, for months. Shop always shows one extra card. First reroll is always free.

  • ...four more unlockable characters. Each with their own story, their own passive, and their own reason to exist.

12 ENVIRONMENTS

Each level draws a random environment with its own enemy roster, boss, and modifier that rewrites the rules for all three stages. You never know what's coming.

  • The Street (Rush Hour) — Every enemy moves 20% faster. Urban foxes, street rats, pigeons. Boss: The Dog Catcher.

  • The Dumpster (Infestation) — Every kill has a 20% chance to immediately spawn another enemy. Raccoons steal your coins on hit. The modifier and the mechanic combine badly.

  • The Animal Shelter (Sedated) — Your max mana is cut 30%. The Warden runs the place as a cover for abuse. He's the most satisfying boss kill in the game.

  • Space 🔒 (Isolation) — Stage coin rewards cut 40%. Unlocks only after OG Laika — the final character, earned by winning a run with every other dog.

  • Eight more. Each one a different problem your build has to solve.

8 DIFFICULTY TIERS

The Collar system. Complete a run → unlock the next tier. Every tier stacks a permanent handicap on top of everything before it.

  • No Collar — base game.

  • Red Collar — you start every run without the Street Smart card, which normally gives free kills toward your quota.

  • Blue Collar — elite enemies no longer drop chests. Fewer mid-run rewards.

  • Diamond — all seven previous handicaps active simultaneously.

You choose your collar before the run. It stays with you.

FOR EVERY DOG THAT NEVER MADE IT HOME

These dogs are real. Their stories are real. The game exists because they deserved to be remembered in more places than a Wikipedia article.

We're committing a portion of every sale to animal rescue — we'll name our partner organisation before launch. Not a vague gesture. A specific commitment, on the record, at launch.

Wishlist Callejero now and we'll notify you the moment it launches.
